Why Laminate Films with Fabric
A base film already does the functional job—seal the gel, hold the PCM, contain the liquid. But many of our comfort, wellness and lifestyle products are worn against the skin or sit on a retail shelf, where how the product feels and looks decides the purchase. Bonding the film to a textile (nylon, fleece, velvet) turns a plain plastic shell into a soft, premium product without changing the engineering underneath.

Why PVC flocking / TPU flocking?
Flocking transforms this utilitarian shell by adding a microfibre “nap.” Tiny fibers (flock) are electrostatically applied to a plastic films. This process delivers a premium, velvety tactile finish and enhances perceived value without altering the part’s fundamental geometry or switching to a heavier textile laminate.

Disadvantages of Flocked Palstics
Durability & Wear
The delicate microfibres are susceptible to flattening and shedding (bald spots) under heavy abrasion or sustained pressure, exposing the shiny base film.
Environmental Sensitivity
Performance degrades in high-heat environments. The adhesive layer is prone to hydrolysis and chemical breakdown when exposed to moisture, sweat, or aggressive cleaners.
No Structural Reinforcement
Unlike a laminated fabric layer that adds tear strength, flocking contributes zero mechanical reinforcement to the substrate.
